Naples Manor

The first Habitat homes in Naples were built on scattered lots in this neighborhood. In the early 90’s single lots were purchased for $3,500. One at a time, a lot was purchased and a home built and sold. Eventually, a series of four lots was purchased (at $5,000 per lot), and our building efficiency increased.

The influence of Habitat partner families on the neighborhood was dramatic. A reduction in crime and increase in new homes built by other developers resulted in soaring property values, so that a single lot sold for more than $100,000 at the height of the real estate market.

After significant changes to the housing market,  to prevent neighborhood blight, we began purchasing non-Habitat homes out of foreclosure and rehabbing them to our "like-new" standards.  Those homes were then sold to qualifying partner families.
